Our flagship ethical tour programs kick off in Indonesia, working primarily in Pulau Merah (Red Island in Banyuwangi, East Java) in a secluded, beautiful bay surrounded by mountains, beaches and national parks. Seclusion is perhaps Pulau Merah’s best asset. As Bali’s tourism industry has flourished, it’s become harder and harder to find regions mostly untouched by the surge of people Indonesia has seen. Get out into the local Turtle Rescue Hatchery, help the locals in an Organised Beach Clean up or get indoors with some of the local kids for a few english lessons.
Program A & C departs first Thursday of every month. Program B departs third Thursday of every month.
Those crystal clear waters and idyllic white beaches are in danger – overuse of disposable water bottles, straws, garbage bags and more are continuously washing up on our shores. Join us for a short 2 day program any weekend – or a longer two week trip starting in June. Kayak up the rivers and help us clean the places you’ll grow to love. Immerse yourself in the local aboriginal culture, and learn about the native (and non-native) plants that our Traditional Owners rely on.
All programs are run with the support of the communities in which they are based. We work alongside university representatives, community figureheads and environmental groups. We assist in research and conservation projects – supporting the science behind the issues our communities face – not the opinions. Actions speak louder than words, and our projects highlight that mentality. We do not speak at our groups – we speak with them, and teach them to speak for themselves.
